Brunch at Red Ribbon

Late post!

Dawn, my boyfriend, was too eager to watch The Avengers because he’s been hearing a lot  how great the movie is from his colleagues. Well, me too! Hahaha. But my lips were zipped and I was acting like I don’t care much when in fact I was so itching to watch it too! Otherwise, I’ll be the one to treat him to movie. (Another pointer girls! Take note of that. Hahaha!)
We met up in our favorite movie place, Ayala Cinema at Trinoma. Trinoma is where we usually meet because it's accessible for both of us. Since we hadn’t had our breakfast yet and it’s already around 11:00AM, we looked for a place where we could have our brunch after purchasing our tickets. We still have 30 minutes to pig out. Our feet brought us at Red Ribbon to feed our hungry tummies before hitting the movie house.

I love bangus so I chose Red Ribbon’s Daing na Bangus with Garlic while Dawn opted to Pork Liempo. I love my food choice that day. The sweet tang of Boneless Bangus and the garlic toppings of it gave a balance taste. And ohhhhh, the atsara (shredded green papaya) tastes awesooome too with the vinegar! Perfect! Smooth-eating because it's boneless! I think it's been more than a year already since I last dined in at Red Ribbon. Even during college, their Bangus is always my favorite and I just missed it a lot!

Sadly, Dawn wasn’t satisfied with what he ordered. Haha! He was too starving that the few pieces of pork liempo weren’t enough to fill in his tank. Being a sweet girlfriend, I gave him almost half of my bangus and rice. Poor boyfie! Hahahaha! How looked so cute!

When you hear the words Red Ribbon the first thing that comes in our mind is CAKE. You know well the drill sweeties! Hahaha. Time for my sweet tooth!
Our meal comes with a slice of cake. I upgraded mine to Ultimate Chocolate for additional Php20. Dawn chose the Mocha? Choco Mocha? Forgot the name!
Ultimate Chocolate
I love those little choco kisses! Is it better than the Triple Chocolate? Well, I think so. But still, both of them aren't good for indulging, for me. And of course, this one is better than what Dawn had.

I'll search for the name of this slice!
Why do I look disappointed here? HAHA! I'm doing my best to  all of them. Leaving even just a single bite on my plate hurts me a lot. LOL

I hate seeing left-overs especially with desserts. I always try to finish my plate, one thing that I also keep on telling to Dawn. It's how I discipline myself [weh?], seriously! If I know I cannot swallow everything then I have to grab just the right amount and choose which not to take even if I wanted to taste everything! Unfortunately this time, Dawn wasn't able to clean up his saucer. He didn't like the cake much because according to him, it's kinda 'nakakaumay' daw. Or simply because he's not into sweet foodies.

I tried saving his cake but I'm bloated, if I insisted, I might ended up puking all of what I've  just gobbled.

By the way, my sweet boyfie Dawn surprised me with this...
Dark Chocolate M&M's
It got me throughout the day! HAHA! He knows well how to tame me. LOL. We went straight to the movie house and got amazed with The Avengers. I was glad that the film was almost highlighted by Ironman. Robert Downey Jr. has always been my favorite actor [well, aside from Johnny Depp]. HAHA.♥

Also, here's a quick look on what I wore that day. Since it's teeming hot, I had a white, sort of dress, blouse and my favorite cream skirt for a refreshing look.

My Secret Milieu: Secret Recipe

How are you doing guys? Just sharing my another sweet tooth experience with one of my favorite cafe-restaurants. I'm sooo happy that I discovered this sort-of-stealthy-place. :)

After watching a meaningful film at the Mind Museum, my boyfie and I headed out at Secret Recipe to have supper. It's only a walk away from The Mind Museum but we decided to take a cab instead. I'd love to take a walk along the tranquil streets of Fort Bonifacio under the stars and the moon of love but feeling worn-out, my feet cannot manage to take more steps. Thanks to my boyfie for being so understanding.

This is not my first to time to eat in this branch. We actually celebrated our pre-valentines date there last February. hehe. The only difference this time is I am taking a closer look with their foods and place and I am sharing my experience to all of you!

As far as I can recall, it was around 9PM when we entered Secret Recipe and I wasn't surprised that there's no one dining in. Na-aa, don't get me wrong, it's because it's quite late already and even if there's no one dining in, there were still some customers who dropped by inside the resto to buy some cakes. :) I think the place is perfect for those who want to have an intimate and private dining experience, highly recommended for lovers, close friends, get-togethers or even rendezvous.

Let me call the place, 'My Secret Millue'.

OH YES, LIFE IS SWEET!
I call it the 'Halloween' chandelier which I can say, added
an elegant touch to the restaurant.

The place as well as the staffs are very warm and welcoming. The place looks so invigorating and stylish with the red and white color combination interior. Table and chairs are properly sited. It's so quiet that I thought it's a perfect place for a marriage proposal with that slice of sweet and delightful cheesecake your girlfriend wouldn't afford to say NO.

To cut it short, here's what our hungry tummy were filled with that night!

Our appetizer, Beef Lasagna!

Oh yes, my boyfriend loves pastas and pizza. :)

One of the FAVORITES, the GRILLED BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN
Grilled BBQ Chicken

No need to ask, mine is the BBQ Chicken while Dawn gotta try out the spice of Black Pepper Chicken for our main course. The serving w/c comes with a garden salad suits the price, each serving can actually be good for two persons. I didn't taste much of the pepper chicken but I can tell the chicken is tender and it's sizzling hot [because of the pepper]! My grilled chicken on the other hand is okay, enjoyable with their 'secret bbq sauce' as stated in their menu. Though I can tell it's made out of tomato. The sauce is too tasty and sweet that it has a tendency to exceed your appetite. Based on these, I assume their carte de jour is primarily Thai Cuisine.

ONION Lover!
Yiiiz! I snatched Dawn's onion on his plate. He doesn't like onions while I sooooo love them! Don't you know onions have health benefits as well? They are good for our heart and can actually help reduce cancer risks. So grab that onions and eat even without cooking!

Time for my sweet tooth! You know my favorite part is always the dessert. hahaha!

Leaving the resto without having a spoonful of their cake is a BIG NO-NO.  This is my all-time favorite, Secret Recipe's OREO CHEESECAKE! I can eat a whole lot of this one. hahaha! You gotta try this one guys, I am telling you. :) Oh well, even their Fresh Cream Cakes are lovable too!

I'll keep coming back for more.  And I am surely sharing it with you again! Big thanks to Secret Recipe for the delightful dining experience and to my love for making me such a spoiled girlfie. ♥♥♥

Yabu Experience

"The way to a man's heart is through his stomach."

 I absolutely believe in this saying, don't you?

That's why I treated my boyfriend at Yabu: House of Katsu (The First Authentic Japanese Katsu Restaurant in the Philippines)
 to celebrate Easter Sunday at Mega Atrium, SM Megamall. HAHA.

We haven't eaten there before but I heard a lot from my brother. He said they have the best tonkatsu ever! The sauce according to him, tastes awesome too.

You know guys that I recently had my first blog giveaway feat where I won 500worth of GC at Yabu.

Since my boyfriend and I spent the holy week away from each other, and I think we all deserve a reward after abstaining from eating pork and chicken meat during the Lenten Season, Easter Sunday is the best time to use my GC and have a bountiful lunch with my love!

It was Easter Sunday so we weren't surprised upon entering the store with crowded customers. Glad there were still unoccupied tables.

This was the view from where we seated. I kinda like it. It actually entertained me while we were waiting for our food.

Yabu's comical wall-divider. It tells the story of how to make a Tonaktsu.The spaces in between are  made transparent glasses so you could see the people on the extended part of their store.
Since it's our first time, Yabu staff Chay (I believe it's their Japanese translated name, not sure really!) cheerfully introduced us these:

My mortar and pestle! Grinding my sesame seeds for my sauce. :)
My boyfie ordered their famous Tonkatsu Set Meal. It comes with a cup of Japanese Rice topped with sesame, an unlimited shredded cabbage, fruits siding, and soup.
 I decided to have Chicken Katsu Set so that we can taste different meals. Wise ba? LOL
This goes the same with Tonkatsu.

Chicken Katsu is categorized as one of Yabu's Signatured dishes but I think Tonkatsu is waaaaay better.  The Chicken is so soft that it breaks when you prick it with your fork. For me, it tastes blunt that I almost exchanged my food with my boyfie! haha.

The Tonkatsu is suuuuuuperb! It has a very distinct taste! No need to sauce it.

The soup and unlimited cabbage I liked!

As for their sesame sauce, I beg to differ with my brother. The sauce we put on our crushed sesame seeds was too salty, nothing special at all. I still prefer the Terriyaki and Oyster Sauce of Tokyo Tokyo. Maybe the fact that I am not  a sesame lover contributed to it.

I grabbed one unlimited iced tea, my boyfie preferred water, at all times. hahaha. I think the unlimited iced tea is sulit for Php 85.00.

 I ended up using spoon and fork. Chopsticks always make me lose my appetite for eating. LOL!

We were so full by the time we emptied our rice bowls! Burp! Burp!
You know that feeling when you're so bloated you can't manage to make a step? LOL

We took some photos before leaving the restaurant. LOL
Boyfie and me. :)
The supervisor bid us 'Thank you, come again!'
I will surely go back to YABU to taste their Jumbo Tiger Prawn Katsu Set!

~~~~OFF TOPIC~~~~
In exchange of my YABU treat, my boyfriend brought me to the Hunger Games movie. He knows I was dying to watch this movie because I've watched the trailer for so many times I knew I just couldn't miss it! Isn't he sweet? LOL! You now know girls the tactic huh? hahaha.
Hunger Games is such a great film! Oveeeeeer! Can't wait for the next parts! :)
We headed to the 6:30 Mass after to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and to  thank GOD for the never-ending blessings and LOVE.
